Ripls 0.3.0 Release Notes

February 13, 2026

New Features

Impact Metrics

See the real-world impact of sharing. Every loan, giveaway, request, and experience now calculates estimated cost savings, carbon emissions prevented, and time saved. Impact metrics appear on community dashboards, individual items, and user profiles – and you can tap any metric to see how it was calculated. (#720, #693, #698, #699, #708, #730, fixes #722)

Redesigned Loan and Giveaway Workflows

Borrowing and giving away items now have clear, step-by-step flows: schedule a pickup time, confirm handoff, and see your impact when it’s done. Both parties can see what the other person sees at each step, and a chat button is always available. (#721, #725)

Stories

Completed loans, giveaways, requests, and experiences now generate story cards that appear in the community feed, celebrating what your community accomplished. Archived items are accessible through their stories. (#689)

Add Gear from a URL

Paste a product URL when adding gear and the app will automatically pull the name, description, photos, and estimated value from the page. (#694, fixes #664)

Invite links now use short, memorable codes (e.g. ripls.app/go/qkLCXDLP) instead of long UUIDs. Shared links show a branded preview with community info in messaging apps via OpenGraph metadata. (#697, fixes #690)

Discovery Search Improvements

Search results now properly filter between loans, giveaways, requests, and experiences. Results are sorted by relevance with better coverage across all item types, and tapping a community metric opens a filtered item list. (#732, #733)

Profile Redesign

User profiles now show your personal impact metrics (items shared, money saved, emissions prevented) alongside your activity, matching the community dashboard layout. (#731, #699)
